Panel Screens Regional Entries for 2013 Best LMC Search                              June 28, 2013

Region 1 - The Regional Screening Committee (RSC) for the 2013 Search for Best LMC for Industrial Peace convened on June 26, 2013 at NCMB RB1 Conference Room to evaluate entries for the said search.

"We have worked beforehand to encourage LMC practitioners in the region to join the search," said OIC Director Helena R. Flores. "We are glad that there are those who stood to the challenge."

Three known companies submitted their entries for evaluation. They are Ginebra San Miguel, Incorporated - Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, Team Sual Corporation - Sual, Pangasinan, and Holcim, Philippines - Bacnotan, La Union Plant. All nominees are from the organized sector.

The RSC is headed by Director Flores. The other members include Atty. Florence Marie G. Ulep (DOLE-RCC), Mr. Deogracias F. Mocam (PHILAMCOP), Ms. Maria Victoria Soriano (PMAP), Mr. Elmer L. Aquino (RTIPC Labor Representative) and Atty. Rio Soriano (RTWPB).

Delegates from the companies were given the opportunity to impress the RSC by presenting to them the best profiles and best LMC practices in their respective companies. Afterwards, the details of their nomination forms were evaluated and were asked, at many instances, to explain their answers to certain questions from them.

Holcim did not make it to the screening schedule due to unforeseen circumstances which the RSC deemed reasonable. Instead, they will be interviewed for evaluation when the RSC will reconvene on July 4, 2013 and to eventually determine which of the three will qualify to the national level.
