SEnA Briefing for Departing OFWs                                                               April 15, 2013

Heeding the mandate for information dissemination and convergence with other agencies under the Department of Labor and Employment, NCMB-RB1 promoted the Department's Single Entry Approach Program to OFWs.

NCMB RB1 OIC Director Helena R. Flores briefing 20 OFWs during their Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) at OWWA Regional Office 1.

OWWA Regional Office 1 OIC Gerry Rimorin invited RCMB1 OIC Director Helena R. Flores on April 2, 2013 to speak in the presence of twenty (20) OFWs about the Single Entry Approach Program.

The said orientation forms part of the Branch's participation in the DOLE's convergent activities between and among the Department's family of agencies.

OWWA RO1, in the conduct of its very own Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) for OFWs, chose to include SENA as part of the information dissemination effort. PDOS is a means of the government, through OWWA, in preparing departing OFWs going abroad. Through this, they are given sufficient knowledge, information, informed of the "do's and don'ts" of being an OFW and to equip them for the many challenges waiting ahead of them at their offshore workplace.

"For OFWs like you, SENA is going to come in handy when needed," OIC Flores said. "Your relatives left here will be provided with speedy assistance to your problems and concerns even when you are abroad."

SENA is a reform measure institutionalized by Secretary Baldoz in 2010 through D.O. 107-10 to effect faster, fairer, and inexpensive settlement of labor issues and to prevent these issues from maturing into actual labor cases.
