NCMB RB1 extends services for RFA settlement

College Gives Due pay to Runatay                                                              March 21, 2013

Region 1 - A college instructor sought the assistance of this Office on January 7, 2013. Mrs. Editha N. Runatay, a former instructor for nine (9) years at National College of Science and Technology, San Fernando City, La Union, claimed some less than twenty thousand worth of unpaid salaries.

The initial conference which was set on January 11, 2013 was re-scheduled on January 25, 2013 as per request of the management but the same failed to appear. Due to the fact that the school president is already on old age, management requested that the conference be held at their school pavilion on February 1, 2013.

It was the first time that the Branch moved out of its official premises to settle a request for assistance. Up until the said case came, SENA conferences were all held at either the Branch's main office or extension offices in Dagupan City and Rosales, Pangasinan.

'We are willing to make necessary actions such as this whenever needed for the sake of service to the people," OIC Helena R. Flores said.

At the school's pavilion, President Blanchita Ignacio met with Sr. LEO Corpuz and Mrs. Runatay. The latter's claims were thoroughly presented and explained to the former with respect to her present physical limitations due to old age and her recent stroke.

Unable even to sign the agreement, her daughter who was with her at that time was given the authority to do so. Parties agreed that Editha's claims, in the amount of P19, 278.85, shall be given on February 4, 2013, 6:00 PM at the school's pavilion.

Sr. LEO Corpuz witnessed the said awarding of claims.
